Stream or download free tracks from 4AD label artists Anni Rossi, The National and Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffitti.
Anni Rossi
Crushing Limbs
About the song’s creation, Anni explains “I started using analog synthesizers alongside the viola when I demoed this song. It sparked my interest in making pop songs that initially feel upbeat and bright, but when you listen closely there is a darkness in the lyrics and the sounds that reveal themselves as you get to know the song better.”
Bloodbuzz Ohio
The National
The first single from The National’s forthcoming new album High Violet will be ‘Bloodbuzz Ohio’, due for release on 7″ vinyl and digital download on May 3, 2010 through 4AD. High Violet is the Brooklyn quintet’s first full-length release since 2007’s acclaimed long-player Boxer and all eleven tracks were recorded in the band’s own studio in Brooklyn with further recording and mixing at Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut with Peter Katis.
Round And Round
Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffitti
Following the announcement that Before Today will be released worldwide June 8, Los Angeles outfit Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti release ‘Round and Round’ this week as a limited 7″ and free download single. Evolved from a solo venture into a fully-fledged band (currently comprised of protagonist Ariel Pink, Kenny Gilmore, Aaron Sperske and Tim Koh) ‘Round and Round’ and its flipside ‘Mistaken Wedding’ are collaborative efforts that showcase the West Coast act’s classic motif of hazy nostalgic and experimental pop.
